______________________________________________________

Customers purchasing reproduction weapons from Make Your Own Medieval do so at their own risk. Customers must be over 18 years of age to purchase weapons. Make Your Own Medieval will not be held liable for incorrect, misuse, careless use, unauthorized use and modifications made to the weapon that cause injury. The use of any weapon in HEMA Sports requires training in their safe and effective use. These items may cause injury if improperly used.

Reenactor weapons are designed for controlled use by trained, registered and authorised reenactors for historical demonstration purposes or in sports. These items have safety features required by many sporting clubs, eg they are blunt or have rounded corners. Please see the individual product listing and refer to your sporting or reenactment club's safety rules to ensure they comply.

Under the 1990 Weapon's act, a sword means a thing consisting of a long, straight or curved blade, fixed in a hilt or handle, the blade of which is either—

    •  pointed; or
    • sharp-edged on one or both sides.

We understand that under legislation, the reenactor swords we sell for sporting use do not meet the definition of a sword because they are neither pointed or sharp. However, in our experience, police do not make this distinction in practice, and thus when we refer to "sword" we mean any metal object which resembles a sword, even if it has no point or sharp edge and our sword and weapons policy applies to these sporting items.

Decorative swords are decorative and for display use only. These swords do not have a sharpened edge.

If you are unsure if an item is a decorative item or a re-enactment item please contact us before use. Before use, customers should seek appropriate training otherwise improper use can cause damage to the weapon, as well as serious injury to either yourself or bystanders.

Customers are fully responsible to ensure that they meet all requirements of local and state laws to legally purchase weapons. We will not be responsible for any consequences of non-compliance.
